Trauma

Everyone has experienced trauma within their lifetime. Trauma can be defined as anything we’ve experienced that felt threatening to our nervous system and limited our abilities to cope.

Unresolved trauma can cause physiological experiences within our bodies that feel like we are stuck in a never-ending loop, which can impact how we move in the world, and how we feel about ourselves and others. We may act in ways that were designed to keep us safe in the past, but are ineffective for the life we are living now. Taking a closer look at those impacts and working to resolve them allows us to feel empowered instead of helpless, and to help us to align with the life we are meant to be living.

I practice EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, which you can read about here), as well as somatic approaches tailored to your needs. These therapeutic approaches are designed to help you integrate your experiences within your nervous system so you can become more attuned to yourself and your needs, and begin stepping forward again.

Feel free to reach out

I offer a free 15-minute consultation (online or by phone) to see if we would be a fit for working together. If you decide you wish to go ahead and book with me, I will ask you the following:

  • Would you like to work virtually (online via secure video platform) or in-person?

  • How frequently do you want to work together (once a week, every 2 weeks, once a month, etc.)

  • Which email address and phone number would you like me to use to contact you?

Once we book our first meeting, you will receive an appointment confirmation with a link to my online intake and consent form. I ask that you fill this out within 24 hours of our first meeting. This allows me to know more about you for when we meet.

If you cannot make our meeting and need to reschedule, I ask that you please give me 48 hours’ notice. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to connecting with you.
